Community Grants Program

The City of Darwin Community Grants program supports one-off activities and events that benefit the community.

You can apply for $1000 - $10,000 (excluding GST) for your project. 

Priority is given to projects that contribute to: 

  • Reconciliation - building relationships, respect and trust between the wider Australian community and First Nations people 
  • Partnerships between community groups
  • Engagement and leadership by underrepresented populations/ diverse communities 
  • Accessibility and Inclusion

Completing Your Application

Before you submit:

Please read the City of Darwin Funding Guidelines 2024.  

We strongly encourage you to contact the Community Development Officer about your application on (08) 8930 0300 or email communitygrants@darwin.nt.gov.au 

To complete this form, you will need to provide: 

  • an explanation of your project and how it will benefit the community 
  • a project plan  
  • a budget and supporting quotes 
  • a current ABN and Public Liability Insurance up to $20 million cover (yours or your auspicing body’s) 
  • a letter of agreement from your auspicing body, if you are being auspiced 
  • letters of support from partnering community groups and/or other support materials

 Once you submit: 

Immediately - You will receive a confirmation email. 

4 weeks after submissions close - Your application will be assessed by a panel.  

9 weeks after submissions close - We will contact you to tell you if you are successful or unsuccessful.  

Applications will automatically close at midnight on Tuesday 30 September 2025. Submissions will not be accepted after this time.
