Reconciliation Week and NAIDOC Week Funding 2025

City of Darwin’s NAIDOC Week and Reconciliation Week funding supports activities taking place during NAIDOC Week and Reconciliation Week between 1 July 2026 and 30 June 2027.

You can apply for $5,000 - $10,000 for your activity (excluding GST)

There is one round per year, providing $50,000 in funding.

Applicants must be First Nations Organisations that are registered with the NT Indigenous Business Network or Supply Nation.

Priority is given to projects that:

  • Celebrate Larrakia or other First Nations achievements or history 
  • Connect community and encourage participation. 
  • Actively promote Reconciliation. 
  • Have broad community engagement and participation

Before applying we encourage you to contact the Coordinator Reconciliation on 8930 0300 or email reconciliation@darwin.nt.gov.au.

Applications will automatically close at midnight on Tuesday 31 March 2026. Submissions will not be accepted after this time.

To complete this form, you will need to provide: 

  • an explanation of your project and how it will benefit the community 
  • a project plan  
  • a budget and supporting quotes 
  • a current ABN and Public Liability Insurance up to $20 million cover (yours or your auspicing body’s) 
  • a letter of agreement from your auspicing body, if you are being auspiced 
  • support materials such as support letters or references

 Once you submit: 

Immediately - You will receive a confirmation email. 

2 weeks after submissions close - Your application will be assessed by a panel.  

9 weeks after submissions close - We will contact you to tell you if you are successful or unsuccessful.  

Confirmation of eligibility

I confirm that we...

  • Organisations must be incorporated not-for-profit, auspiced by an incorporated organisation for the purposes of this application.
  • Activities need to be completed during Reconciliation Week or NAIDOC Week.
  • Organisations must be First Nations and should be registered with Northern Territory Indigenous Business Network or Supply Nation.
  • Activities must occur in the Darwin municipality.
  • Do not owe any reports or money to City of Darwin from previous funding or grants, 
  • Activities need to be inclusive and accessible,
  • Have public liability insurance up to $20 million, and
  • Have never received funding from City of Darwin for this project in the past.
